I should perhaps have been more mot-au-mot. I’ve looked into what you asked in your post a while ago. Being a trained ethnographer I have the marvelous privilege to have access to a large market rese…

We work with render farms allot. They are typically inside a walking freezer. I guess the same can be said about lots of trivial things, where do one draw the line….no, really, what is practical? If you look at the bigger picture it is probably more…

Deon, it's not what the servers weigh. It's that spam takes up space on servers, which require energy to keep running, and energy to keep cool. If you've ever been to a server farm you'll know how significiant this is, as the servers get very hot.…

You know what? There is this guy I know who is an expert on statistic and research. He says that spam takes up so little traffic, bandwidth and energy that it is insignificant. He says that social media, illegal music and movies and junk mail (the j…

About me
My career can be described as a winding road.
I studied music, but ended up at a talk radio station.
I was mentored by a legendary journalist, but decided to go into new media advertising.
Years later I felt drawn by the music industry, but returned as a music video director.
My creative portfolio and list of awards grew, but I became interested in things more serious. I started and am still busy with my 1st full length documentary film.
Ever-spiraling cycle, I guess….

My daily dose of spam is a sentinel that my mailbox is working fine. I just hit delete –delete-delete and it is gone. Why does people go on about something that is so unobtrusive and insignificant. I’m much more opposed to the shit that makes its way into my real-world mailbox. Cos ultimately that waists money and pollutes our streets.

SMV Defined

This article is not based on intensive research, but is rather an overview of what seems to be popular formats in producing video for social media.

Traditional TV has popular formats that (even though the general public is often un-aware of it) has been well defined over 60 years.

What did Sun Tzu miss? Art of War and SMM

I love the book: The Art of War for Business. But there was something Sun Tzu missed.

While watching a documentary on codes and communication during the modern wars, something leaped out at me that the narrator said. It makes so

Video for social media channels: The Bottom Line

Often we are approached by clients in want of a video. They know what they want depicted but, very little consideration is given to the rest. A potential client often departs from the video producer with a spinning head and a disillusioned heart.
On a quest to save you the endless footwork and us a tedious quoting presses, we came up with a formula; a recipe if you wish; of a corporate promo or in-house training video.
This promotion is no substitute for a proper quote. It will give you a good i… Continue

Sounds like you hate the funding aspect of your job, rather than the creative side.
I so know the feeling. My worst is getting listed on supplier databases.
Sorry, but I don't know anyone during this recession that has money to spare. (I obviously move in the wrong circles :))

It sounds like you have your new direction, and the passion to make it happen. That's the hard part done. Now you just have to decide you're 'doing it' - and create the space you need.

I often feel that way just before I commit to writing each of my books. I earn my living from consulting and publishing - which I enjoy or not depending on the client- but my passion is writing.

Yeah:) No excuses left. And there is nothing wrong with music, filmmaking or train driving. The first 2 appeal to me, but I have no talent in either. Train driving is a boys thing.
My books include: Blackboards, bubbles & Cappuccinos - about following your dreams :) See
http://www.changedesigns.co.za/Products/Blackboardbook.htm for a video review. Other books are "Ride the Wild Tiger" and "Mastering Personal Change." You can see them all on my website www.changedesigns.co.za or on google books to read sample chapters.

What a wonderfully generous offer! Thank you. How about I put you on my mailing list - and when you see a public seminar you'd like to attend - we do a trade. You film parts of it - and attend free and network with lots of special people...just let me know your email address
